This
pot was dropped in a mangrove lagoon in Key Largo, Florida
in June, 2001. The image (down and to the left) is what
the pot looked like after 14 months of growth. The image
(down and to the right) is the finished work. The pot
was closer to the surface of the water than the other
pots (about 3-5 feet below the surface) so it obtained
much more significant growth containing calcium carbonite.
Barnacles and tubeworms encrusted the pot with a 2 1/2
inch layer making a facinating texture. To my suprise
much of the sponge remained on the pot. There isn't much
color, but the detail is phenomenal!

soon I should have the detailed shots up soon.) 1
